Closing Day: Today, in 1965, was the last day that the 1964-1965 New York World’s Fair was open for guests. 

Today, it still remains, at least in memory as a watershed moment of historiography, the space age, and a testament to it’s theme of “Peace Through Understanding”. 

I wish I could have gone to this. My mom went when she was a little kid and she said it was awesome.
